Natural GRAY diamonds

Natural gray diamonds do exist, however they are very uncommon. The color shades often found can be smokey, light silver and opaque black. These diamonds unique and are desirable among collectors. These diamonds considered part of the blue diamond family as collectors utilize them in designer jewelry.

Cause of Color

According to the Gemological Institute of American, the formation of gray diamonds are caused by the presence of hydrogen trapped in the diamond. Gray diamonds can also have a modifier/secondary color such as violet, blue and green.

Generally Gray diamonds can be found in almost all mines around the world.
