Natural chameleon diamonds

Chameleon diamonds are a combination of green, yellow, brown and gray color components. The color can be described, for example, in the following ways: greyish greenish yellow, greenish yellowish gray, yellowish green, brownish yellowish green.

Cause of Color

Chameleon diamonds with either heat or light conditions can cycle between two colors. The diamond can change color from orange to green, yellow to black, and the opposite. Nonetheless, it is important to remember that the light or temperature conditions needed to cause a color change can be fairly extreme in a chameleon diamond. It is not unusual to change a color for a light-sensitive chameleon for a week of complete obscurity and to then change back to its other color, when brought out to the daylight, in about 30 to 60 seconds.

Origin of chameleon diamonds

Collectors are amazed by these rare diamonds as they are a true miracle of nature. Gemologists are not yet sure of the origin of this occurrence. The origins of chameleon diamonds are not unique locations, they can be found all over the world.
